The expand-a-gate is an ideal stand-alone barrier that is designed to temporarily prohibit access to areas for cleaning or safety concerns. It expands from a collapsed width of 14.5" to 144". It can be used alone, or linked with other expand-a-gates end-to-end to form longer runs. This is especially useful to construction operations that may need to section off half of an entire new floor. Bollard Posts are often used to Protect Buildings, Employees, Customers from Injuries caused by Vehicular Collisions.

Commercial bollard posts protect facilities, restricted areas, equipment, and sensitive materials. One or more bollard post(s) will provide an effective barrier against industrial and material handling equipment impact. At the same time, they allow pedestrian traffic to move freely into and out of areas and protect workers and customers from injury.

Most bollard posts are made from steel and are treated with a powder coat finish. The standard color is safety yellow because it provides high visibility.

Concrete Bollards Provide The Ultimate In Pedestrian Safety & Traffic Control.

When are concrete bollards needed?
In areas where very large forklifts, trucks, or service vehicles are passing through an area, a standard metal bollard may not provide sufficient resistance against an impact to fully stop its collision. A lightweight bollard will often bend or break out of its base if hit with sufficient force. This destroys both the bollard and whatever the bollard was protecting, and the costs of this loss can easily mount into the thousands of dollars from ruined material and possible liabilities resulting from spillage of hazardous chemicals.

Concrete bollards provide an extra level of protection in such cases. Larger concrete bollards are often used restrict vehicle traffic around loading docks, loading ramps, and gates. Smaller pour on place bollards provide excellent safeguards for protecting pallet racks, industrial storage racks, and shelving units located within the warehouse. Factories also occasionally use concrete bollards to form protective barriers around heavy machinery and heating/cooling pumps.

How do concrete bollards work?
They are fixed into the concrete itself and can be filled with concrete to provide a heavier, more durable protective barrier against collision. Bollards made for concrete infill are hollow on the inside and are longer than their standard equivalents. The extra length allows you to fix them into a concrete floor without sacrificing the necessary height to form an effective barrier. The hollow interior allows you to fill the bollard with concrete to increase its strength and durability against impact.

Can we install concrete bollards ourselves?
Yes. Concrete bollards are made with welded anchoring tabs that allow you to accurately align and fix the bollard into a concrete floor or parking area. For those able to coordinate their own self-installation, welded anchoring tabs that allow you to accurately position and align the bollard in a concrete base. The bollard caps are removable to allow for convenient concrete infilling.
