Electric Lift Tables

Electric lifts reduce workplace trauma and injury resulting from repetitive motions, bending, and lifting. They are also highly ergonomic and efficient tools for improving process flow. By speeding up production, processing, and shipping, they add value to an organization’s profit. By minimizing stress and injury, electric lift tables reduce costs associated with injury claims, lost man-hours due to time off, and decreased productivity resulting from decreased worker morale.

Most electric lift tables operate on a hybrid hydraulic, electric system. Some, however, exclusively rely upon electric power. The key to choosing which electric lift table is right for you lies more in its mobility than its source of power.

Electric Hydraulic scissor lift tables
This electric scissor lift table is used by almost every sector of the manufacturing and warehousing industry. Electric hydraulic scissor lift tables offer you many safety features, such as an electric toe guard to protect pinch points during lowering of the table, and a brass velocity fuse to maintain the platform height regardless of hydraulic pressure. Its 24V AC push-button hand control, maintenance prop, and upper travel limit switch can stop the table at maximum height, reducing the wear on the 2HP that powers the hydraulic system (rated at 3,000 psi component rating).

Electric Hydraulic Lift and Tilt Table
This hybrid hydraulic/ electric lift table can elevate materials and also tilt them to a 45° standard. It features a restraining chain that secures the load to a 12" high lip keep load in place during tilting. This electric lift table also offers a number of safety features, such as an electric toe guard that shields workers from pinch points. While you are lowering the table, velocity fuses will stop its travel in the event that hydraulic pressure drops. A 4 push-button hand pendent control on an 8 foot coil cord attaches to an upper limit switch that stops platform travel at its maximum height. This reduces motor wear and maintenance prop. End tilt functionality is standard to the electric/hydraulic lift table, and side tilt functionality is also available.

“U” Type Electric Lift Tables
The open center design of the on the "U" Type Electric Lift Tables allows you to access it with a pallet truck and place a load on its platform. This unit features an external power pack and pressure release valve that prevents overloading. Flow control valves function to regulate speed while the table is being lowered. Every unit also comes with a remote power unit, complete with a steel cover to protect the motor from dust and debris. You can lift and lower the table using the UP and DOWN push-buttons on the 24V control box. This unit also offers many safety features such as electric toe guards, velocity fuses in cylinders, safety maintenance props, and stop buttons on the control box.

Zero Lift and Tilt Table

Lift Tables

Lift Tables
Ergonomic Electric Hydraulic Heavy Duty Lift Tables! Lifting tables are the ergonomic solution to reducing repetitive motion injury, increasing morale, and maximizing material handling process flow efficiency.

Ergonomic Lift Tables
Tilt tables and ergonomic lift tables are solutions to reducing repetitive motion injury. They improve and facilitate process flow, and they help increase morale, and maximize efficiency. Cumulative trauma disorders and repetitive stress injuries are cited as two of Americaʼs greatest workplace health problems. Each year these injuries result in individual suffering, lost revenue, and decreased efficiency. Lift tables alleviate these injuries by either elevating materials on a horizontal platform to a safe and comfortable height for workers to access without stress or strain. Tilt tables elevate one end of a box, crate, or basket to a desired angle in order to facilitate the loading or unloading of its contents.

Electric Lift Tables

Gas Cylinder Storage Racks

While there are many creative and innovative ways to transport and store all kinds of materials, gas cylinders are very important exceptions to the convenient storage rule. Due to the many hazards associated with compressed, and sometimes toxic gases, these cylinders require special storage racks and cabinets specifically designed for the purpose of safely handling and maintaining and inventory of compressed, liquefied gases contained in portable cylinders.

If you improperly store or handle gas cylinders, you risk creating some very severe safety hazards including, but not limited to, fire, contamination of the environment, asphyxiation, and possible explosion. Not only do these hazards represent heavy penalties and fines if your facility is found in violation of NFPA safety codes, but the level of risk these dangers represent literally make it a matter of life and death to properly handle and store gas cylinders correctly and safely.

Gas cylinder storage racks and cabinets represent an investment you canʼt afford NOT to make. A number of models can be obtained from Easy Rack that will keep your facility in full compliance with safety codes and help keep your property and employees safe from worse-case scenario accidents.

Portable Cylinder Clutcher
This portable gas cylinder rack is engineered for lifting and moving LP tanks. It offers smooth, ergonomic, automatic control that allows the operator to simply raise and lower handle while in use. This portable cylinder clutcher works with gas cylinder diameters that range from 8½ " to 12½". It includes two rigid and one swivel caster for easy, ergonomic maneuverability.

Cylinder Caddies
You can safely transport cylinders safely with these fork-mounted or pallet jack style gas cylinder racks. These units can hold anywhere from 2 to 6 cylinders each, and they come complete with safety chains to secure cylinders in place. Made of all steel construction, these cylinder caddy racks hold cylinders up to 9-1/2" in diameter.

Wall Mounted Single Cylinder Cabinet Brackets
These ingenious wall mounted gas cylinder storage cabinets are designed to store one LP cylinder each. The unit is easy to install. Simply bolt it to a wall and then secure the cylinder to the cabinet bracket with the strap. You can choose either steel or molded plastic brackets, and you can also order an optional steel chain for extra safety.

Welded Cylinder Torch Cart
Cutting torches with a gas cylinder fuel cell require their own portable cabinet to safely transport. The welded cylinder torch cart does exactly this. It is intended to contain and transport a cutting torch wherever it is needed. This portable cylinder torch cart includes gas cylinder tank storage cabinets, torch holding brackets, a torch holding box, and an overhead crane lifting point. Two handles and fork pockets allow it to be moved either by hand or with a fork truck. The unit rolls smoothly on two 10" x 3½" pneumatic wheels.

Gas Cylinder Tank Truck
The LP-6 is an all-in-one cart that allows users to transport gas cylinders to the location they are needed, and then switch out tanks in a safe and efficient manner. With a sturdy, user friendly design, this gas cylinder tank truck is the ergonomic solution to the many lifting, transporting, and storing problems associate with LP tanks. The built in crane can be used to safely load full gas cylinders into fork trucks. The crane pivots 360 degrees for maximum versatility. The tank attachment at the end of the boom utilizes steel hooks to securely clamp each end of the cylinder. Built in racks allow for convenient storage of gas cylinders in two sets of racks. The lighter, empty gas cylinders can be easily removed from the fork truck by hand and stored in the two vertical racks. Full gas cylinders can be stored in the four horizontal racks, allowing them to be picked up by the built in crane. Simply pull the pin, and the top racks pivot outward easily to allow access to the bottom two tanks. Units feature two rigid and two swivel casters for easy portability, and a floor lock is included to keep the unit immobile while in use. The ergonomic push handle is bolted in, and is easily removable. The crane boom is raised and lowered with a manual hand pump hydraulic lift. This allows one operator to raise the gas cylinder from the storage racks on the unit, or to lower them from the fork with a convenient lowering valve.

Commercial Shelving

The benefits of commercial widespan shelving provide both the motivation and the return on investment that justifies their procurement in the first place. The variety of commercial shelving is extensive, ranging from smaller, portable commercial shelves and racks to heavy duty industrial commercial pallet racking systems. The intent behind this diversity is to provide the most efficient conversion of floor space and vertical cube space into an optimum environment for one or more specific types of contents. As a general principle, any item or container that features symmetric or proportional dimensions and has at least one flat surface can be stored on some sort of commercial shelf or metal rack. This is because shelving systems themselves are rectangular in design and provide horizontal storage space in ascending rows. Round containers can be stored on shelves provided they too have a flat surface on the end with a sufficient radius to balance and support their weight. Irregularly sized materials such as tubing, pipe, furniture, Sheetrock, and flooring supplies normally require more specialized storage areas such as those provided by cantilever racks.

Because symmetry and balance determine which materials you can store on heavy duty commercial shelves, weight plays a secondary role in determining which units you will need for your facility. Most 18 gauge and 20 gauge steel shelving units can easily support 400-450 lbs in weight. This is normally sufficient for the average crate or box, and because these commercial shelves feature sufficiently compact builds to be positioned in a number of places, anything from stockrooms to the entirety of a wall can be reorganized with as many of these units as you need to stack and store materials, products, supplies, tools, and even paperwork. (Some of our smaller shelving systems routinely find their way into the offices of managers who use them for easy access to drawings and materials that need to be worked on throughout the day).

Larger commercial shelves, such as cantilever racks are meant for more heavy duty storage. If you are storing parts in large crates, any number of industrial strength shelves can help you safely and efficiently do this. Your choices are best determined by considering three factors when making your selection. The first is safety. With extremely large items or heavy containers, make absolutely certain that you invest in a commercial shelving system whose weight capacity exceeds the total weight of items. Maxing out a brand new storage system is never a good idea. A worker may not be aware of this, store additional materials on a system already at full capacity, and cause the unit to become unstable. The second is accessibility. If you only need to retrieve items from the front of the shelf, commercial wide span systems offer you some of the most powerful storage units in existence and the added stability of resting against a wall. Open ended systems, however, are often required for items that have to be retrieved by a team of people continually throughout the day, such as you see in many assembly lines. Finally, the actual length, height, and depth of the commercial shelf you invest in really needs to be assessed in terms of floor space/vertical cube space conversion. The total dimensions of a shelf are not always indicators of the actual interior, usable storage space. To make certain every square cubic inch pays your back for your investment, talk to your material handling specialist about usable storage solutions, weight capacity, accessibility, and methods of ensuring the unit remains stable and secure in every conceivable scenario.

Easy Rack maintains a full selection of small, mid-sized, and heavy duty steel commercial racking systems, including wide span units that can be used in places ranging from service center areas behind the front desk to large warehouses where voluminous storage must be consolidated along the walls to make way for heavy traffic. If cost is an issue, our procurement and distribution network can locate any commercial shelf you find on our website and obtain it for you in quality, used condition—sometimes for a discount of up to 40%.

Shelving & Storage Solutions
Easy Rack storage solutions and shelves include everything from pallet racks for general pallet storage racks to medium and heavy duty cantilever racks. Both lines of material handling products offer flexibility and customization. High density storage, tool storage, and parts organization can be accomplished with any number of bin storage cabinets and bar racks, maximizing your floor space and converting unused vertical cube space in the process.

Fork Lift Platforms

The quick elevation of maintenance personnel to overhead racks and shelving is essential to the smooth operations of any organization. The key is to transport them with the best assurance of safety in the process to avoid injuries, downtime, and possible liabilities. Forklift work platforms are an excellent way to accomplish both safe and speedy transportation of workers from one part of the plant to the other. Simply by attaching one of these work platforms to the front of your forklift, you create an entirely new form of vehicle that is intended for a specific, unique function and designed to fulfill that function with the highest level of human safety.
Forklift work platforms are built with fork pockets in the back that allow them to be accessed by the forks of a fork truck. Chains are then wrapped around the forks to provide the first level of securing the attachment. To further secure the unit, as tine is engaged to lock the work platform firmly in place.

Forklift work platforms feature handrails on the side that workers can hold onto in order to maintain their balance while the platform is being elevated or moved. Most units also include a checker floor plate that is designed to provide foot traction for workers while the forklift is moving the platform forward. The fourth side of most units features a 60” high expanded metal backing, although in California, OSHA requirements mandate an 84” backing, which you can easily obtain from your Easy Rack account manager.

The standard capacity for the average forklift work platform sold by Easy Rack is approximately 1,000 pounds—more than enough to safely carry the weight of several employees from point to point. Further safety features such as a lanyard with safety harness, a harness or hook to further secure the platform to the forklift, and an emergency stop button kit and web can be ordered with your unit. Fork truck work platforms can be ordered in either new models or used models. Used models feature the same capacity and safety features as new fork truck work platforms, but can save you as much as 40% off your purchase order.

If space is limited in your facility, and you are uncertain as to whether or not you can conveniently store fork truck work platforms while not in use, don’t give up on the idea of investing in these excellent tools for managing inventory and performing repairs. Invest instead in the space saving, super efficient fold down forklift work platform. This unit operates in exactly the same manner as our standard models do, and it offers the added benefit of compact storage. One person can easily assemble the unit for use and fold it down again when finished.

Doors on either side of the fold down forklift work platform open easily and close securely with a built in latch. The platform features 60’ high expanded metal handrails and back to ensure personnel safety, and the platform also includes a tine lock like the ones found in standard models. When workers are finished with the task at hand, one person can quickly fold the work platform down and store it with minimal effort, lost time, and space.

Pallet Lifters

Hydraulic Pallet Lifts are intended to assist during construction work, ship loading, unpaved storage areas, open-top trucks and even barges. Some pallet lifters use forks that slide underneath pallets, allowing you to lift and move it from workstation to workstation. Manual pallet lifts such as this unit feature solid steel construction tapered forks to allow easy access under pallets. The unitʼs main support contains handles that allow personnel to easily steer and control the unit. The large, square head at the top of the unit acts as a counterweight that keeps the unit level without a load. The manual unit meets ASME B30.20 Standard 1993. A certificate is shipped out with every unit stating that it has been tested.

Other pallet lifters use electronic motors to elevate, rotate, and tilt pallets for precise maneuvering and safe rapid transport. Easy Rack offers three models from which you can choose.

Low Profile "U" Type Electric Pallet Lift Table
The open center on the "U" Type Electric Pallet Lifter Tables allows a pallet truck to place a load on the platform. This ergonomic lift equipment features an external power pack equipped with a pressure relief valve that prevents overloading. It also has a flow control valve that controls the lowering speed. A remote power pack, complete with a steel cover, protects the motor from dust and debris. You can raise and lower the pallet lifting table with UP and DOWN push-buttons on the 24V control box. Safety features include electric toe guards, velocity fuse in cylinders, safety maintenance props and an emergency stop button on the control box.

Note: The power lifting table can only be used with skids or open bottom containers when being loaded with a pallet jack. The opening in the deck is 21 7/8"W x 41 1/4"L, so the pallet truck needs to be 20"W or less for this table to work. Standard closed bottom pallets would need to be loaded with a fork lift or straddle type lifter.

Portable Pallet Lifter and Inverter
Rotate and transfer pallets with Easy Rackʼs Portable Pallet Lifter and Inverter. This convenient, easy to use pallet lift is a must have in your shop, loading dock, or warehouse. When using the PPLI, simply place the unitʼs lower forks underneath the bottom pallet, lower the top forks to secure the palletʼs inner contents, and lift the pallet up 90 degrees. At this point, operators can manually rotate the load 180 degrees where it will stop and latch into place automatically. This will bring the top pallet into the lower position, effectively inverting your load. Tilt the load down, and itʼs ready for transport, or to be lowered to the ground. Because the PPLI utilizes outriggers, only open bottom pallets and skids are compatible with the design.

The dc power lift and drive makes operations safe and efficient, and the units built in battery charger provide maximum convenience. Standard features on the Easy Rack Pallet Lift and Inverter include a key operated, on/off switch, forward and reverse butterfly controls, and easy to use hand controls for the lift and tilt function. Used Cantilever Racks

Used cantilever racks will often save your organization up to 40% off the purchase value of new cantilever racks. Lighter duty, pre-configured used cantilever racks can be located through any number or channels Easy Rack representatives have access to, and used cantilever arms and cantilever uprights that are needed to build medium and heavy duty cantilever shelving systems can also be obtained at similar price points and drop shipped immediately to your location or the location of your client.

Cantilever racks are needed by industrial facilities for two very important uses: storage of odd-sized and exceptionally long materials, and compact, efficient conversion of floor space to functional, secure storage space. Unlike mezzanine systems, pallet racks, and industrial shelving systems, cantilever racking uses a unique configuration of vertical uprights to support horizontal arms that cradle materials and products. The total amount of floor space used is significantly less than what is required for larger standard shelving, allowing you to use more cantilever shelving units per square foot than other forms of storage. For example, you can cost effectively order several used cantilever racks in our pre-configured, double-sided design and mount them side by side to extend horizontal storage space for extremely long products such as lumber, tubes, metal bars, rods, poles, and plumbing pipes. If you are thinking about moving to a larger, more expensive location, consider ordering some used cantilever racks to see if they could transform some of your unused rooms and corners into efficient, productive space with either pre-configured or heavy-duty, custom built used cantilever racking.

Through consolidation of your resources and the creation of a safer, less cluttered work environment no doubt will improve both your process flow and your employ morale. Workers will no longer have to use the floor to store materials like flake boards, marble, granite, wooden crates, dry wall, aluminum sheets, TV’s, stereos, appliances, or furniture. Each one of these items can be stored on a used cantilever system custom built for specific load and weight distribution requirements. Easy Rack can provide you with any size and number of vertical single sided uprights necessary to support even the largest and most cumbersome of objects. You can obtain used double sided cantilever rack arms of any length, load capacity, and cantilever arm design. Cantilever arms themselves either extend horizontally or angle upward slightly in a curve. The two different designs are to support two very general categories of products. Flat items, such as drywall and stone slabs, rest better on horizontal supports extending from the upright at a straight 90 degree angle. Cylindrical products, such as pipes, cylindrical containers, and barrels, require a “cradle” that will prevent their round surface from rolling off the rack.

Easy Rack only builds and supports new and used heavy duty cantilever racks that feature one style of arm or the other. Attempts to combine “flat” arms with “curved” arms is taking too may shortcuts and taking too many risks on creating instability. This is not something we can support. However, this does NOT mean you have to by a rack for each and every storage need you have. Each rack features a great deal of flexibility because uprights feature grooves that allow the arms to be moved up and down to different positions. This allows you to adjust settings and use the same cantilever rack to store many different types and sizes of materials, provided each storage load is similar enough to be loaded and stored with balance and stability.

Using cantilever racks with heavy duty cantilever arms can transform every square inch of what you thought was unusable floor space into a super-efficient organizational shelving system that makes inventory fast, easy, and amazingly accurate. You will find yourself having to authorize less needless overtime, and you will find fewer mistakes in tracking supplies that are now neatly compartmentalized rather than simply piled on the floor or stacked in the corner.

The best thing about all of this is the savings on top of the productivity. Used cantilever arms, vertical uprights, and pre-configured units are just as sturdy as new models, but they cost amazingly less. Ordering a used cantilever rack online is a simple, safe and secure procedure. Our Internet staff of shelving associates will find all necessary parts to fulfill functional and safety requirements before drop shipping either a complete cantilever rack or necessary components to your location or your client’s site.

Loading Dock Lifts

Loading Dock Lifts
Scissor Table loading dock lifts will help to reduce man-hours and improve safety when a facility lacks a loading dock. A lift controlled by hydraulic cylinders raises materials to the truck. Easy Rack loading dock lifts are engineered for optimal safety, help reduce the risk of injuries, and greatly improve time to market efficiency. Every unit features user-friendly controls in the form of a push button, 24V AC on a 20 foot long coil cord. A pre-wired control box includes a magnetic starter and overload fuse, and an emergency velocity fuse stops momentum in the event of a line break.

Loading dock lifts also have high visibility, removable handrails with fixed toe boards. The checkered deck plate on each unit is manufactured from heavy gauge steel and is intended to last for years. The perimeter of the platform is surrounded by beveled toe-guards and electric toe-guards to prevent slips and falls. The electric toe-guard is a patented device essential to the safety of personnel. It is made from L-shaped aluminum extrusion and hangs below the entire perimeter of the deck. This is important, because if the loading dock lift is being lowered when a worker’s hand or foot crosses its path, the guard will be triggered and the scissor table will automatically stop. When the object is removed, the lift table once again begins to move. It is not necessary to reset the unit to resume operation.

Toe-guard provisions are standard OSHA and ANSI safety measures present on a variety of platforms. They built into the scissor table loading dock lift for compliance protocol. The unit is also semi-portable, and can be operated up to 8 feet away from the 6.5 HP motor that drives it.

Easy Rack offers a number of premium scissor table loading dock lift options that can be requested at the time of your order. These options customize the unit to specific requirements and tasks, and they can be obtained through your Easy Rack Specialist at no additional cost.

Loading Dock Ramps

Loading Dock Ramps
Many facilities like construction sites lack docks with permanent, concrete loading dock ramps. Moving products to and from trucks and rail cars can be both laborious and dangerous for these businesses, even with the use of fork trucks. Portable yard ramps make efficient and safe to expeditiously move product from point to point without the need of an actual dock. Construction crews especially value yard ramps for their ability to load and unload building materials. Because they function just like a fixed loading dock ramp, yard ramps will support both fork truck and foot traffic and are available in a number of builds, sizes, and weight capacities.

Different applications require different sizes of loading dock ramps. The most commonly used lengths are 30’ and 36’ foot yard ramps that include a six foot level off to help facilitate access to storage areas and materials. Additional widths and capacities can also be ordered for specialized applications. Ask an Easy Rack specialist about your options. Easy Rack portable yard ramps are manufactured from steel, aluminum, or a blend of aluminum and steel (aluminum frame, steel grate). Your choices in material build are determined by the type of application, the weight capacitance you require, and the amount of portability you require. Again, a material handling specialist will help you make these determinations when placing your order.

Steel Loading Dock Ramps
Steel loading dock ramps feature a 2 speed hand crank and offer a service range from 45” to 62”. Weight capacities range from 15,000lbs. to 30,000lbs. The ramp itself is either 30’ length or 36’ in length. Safety features include steel traction grating, safety lock chains, rubber bumpers; a 15” overlap lip for extra safety, and 4” high safety curbs. Welded hand rails can also be welded on to any unit upon request.

Aluminum Yard Ramps
As in the case of steel yard ramps, aluminum loading dock ramps feature either 30ft straight ramp or 36ft. ramp with a 6ft. level off. Weight capacities range from 16,000lbs. up to 30,000 lbs. Several features make this unit user friendly and safe. A hand pump hydraulic lift allows for a single person to adjust the height. Rubber shock absorbers help to stabilize the unit, and an optional tow bar enables trucks or forklifts to move the loading dock around a construction site or shipping yard. Safety anchor chains come included with the unit. The yard ramp can also be manufactured with an aluminum frame and steel grating, and customized sizing can be arranged through your Easy Rack specialist.

Mobility
Various tire options, including pneumatic tires that are available for both steel and aluminum loading dock ramps. In order to meet with OSHA and ANSI requirements, every yard ramp must be attached to the truck with bolt locking chains before use. Toe bars can also be fitted to any loading dock ramp so that fork trucks can move them. For extended service range, a loading dock leveler can be added to the ramp, and towbar hitches, loops, or forklift pickup slots can be installed that will allow a variety of vehicles to move and position the yard ramp.

Dock Levelers

Easy Rack Dock Levelers
Dock levelers provide movable, vertical ramp platforms that can be raised and lowered to create a level surface between the loading dock and the interior of a truck trailer. A dock leveler must be stable and able to handle extremely heavy loads. Because trailer beds can vary extensively in size, dock levelers have to be able to reach a variety of heights, and they must also provide a stable platform that provides traction for material handling equipment, personnel, and odd-sized or cumbersome loads.

Truck Actuated Dock Leveler
The Easy Rack Truck Actuated dock leveler can easily support up to 20,000 lbs. of materials and supplies. It features a lift bypass feature that helps prevent damage to obstructions and doors, and it also features an automatic return to cross traffic. You can customize this dock leveler upon request. It can be ordered with weather stripping if you plan to use it outdoors. You can also have it built either with legs or without leg, depending on where you plan to use the device. Additional weight capacity can be built into the unit as well, with strengths ranging from 30,000 to 80,000 lbs.

Mechanical Dock levelers
The Easy Rack mechanical dock leveler is a durable, rugged piece of material handling equipment that is engineered and designed for minimum maintenance. It is ideal for truck loading and unloading, and can handle loads of up to 50,000 lbs. in weight.. The mechanical dock leveler features a smooth operation controlled by a recessed chain that releases the deck and allow it to raise up.

The unit itself is made from heavy duty steel. It features a ¼” checkered plate deck rated at 55,000 PSI. A 6” industrial strength steel under structure supports the platform and contributes to its exceptionally long life. It also comes with telescopic steel toe guards on both sides that are flush with the platform edge, and the lip itself measures 16” long. The mechanical dock leveler delivers a service range 12” above and below dock. For additional stability and safety, it includes with 2 laminated bumpers

Electric Hydraulic Dock Leveler
This unit is engineered with state of the art hydraulic lifting at the push of a button. If your facility has an exceptionally busy dock, we recommend that you purchase this unit because of its speed, reliability, and exceptional weight capacity. When the operated depresses the “raise” button, the hydraulic pump raises the deck and extends the lip. Once the electric hydraulic dock leveler is at the desired level, the operated releases the raise button and deck descends to the trailer bed. When the truck pulls away, the deck descends to full down position, trips the limit switch and returns automatically to the level support cross traffic position.

The Easy Rack electric hydraulic dock leveler can be ordered in 1 phase or 3 phase power options. The unit includes 2 laminated bumpers and a control box with a red emergency stop button. This is the most powerful unit available in our stock, capable of handling up to 80,000 lbs. in weight.

Cantilever Shelving

Cantilever shelving both new and used will allow you to store any awkwardly proportion or especially long materials like tubing and pipe safely and conveniently. It is extremely valuable when it comes to converting unused floor space into functional storage space. Cantilever shelving also helps maintain a safer, less cluttered work environment. You will never again have use the floor to store dry wall, metal sheets, or pipes that create trip hazards and present obstructions to workers and fork trucks.

Another advantage you receive from cantilever shelves is the organizational improvements they can contribute to your process flow. With the correctly proportioned cantilever racks, any number of products that normally defy category and easy storage can be segregated and compartmentalized for quick inventory and retrieval on demand. The improvements this efficiency will make will prevent you from losing money on needless overtime and mistakes in inventory and stock selection. Although these returns on investment may at first appear at intangible and nebulous, they are nevertheless absolutely real and will over the course of time pay for the equipment itself.

Cantilever shelves differ considerably from traditional shelving systems and pallet racking systems. Instead than supporting a flat surface with a traditionally designed frame, cantilever shelves uses vertical uprights and adjustable arms that reach outward. Cantilever uprights and arms will either extend horizontally at a straight 90 degree angle to the upright, or they will angle slightly upward in order to cradle certain materials. Generally speaking, flat items like dry wall are stored on the horizontal arms, and longer, cylindrical materials are stored on arms that angle up to prevent roll off. Knowing which type of uprights and arms to use in your cantilever rack requires first deciding exactly what you plan to use it for. It also requires some calculation of weight load and distribution which either simple math or a phone call to an Easy Rack expert can help you quickly determine which used pallet racking system is good for you.

Because uprights and arms are sold individually, larger cantilever shelves are custom creations of our clients. They are reconfigured systems we have available that are designed for light and general storage needs. Details of these units can be obtained by clicking here, or by calling an Easy Rack representative for more information toll free at 888-776-3720.

If you are going to build your own custom shelving out of cantilever supports and arms, it is important to follow four general principles in determining exactly which items you will need to create a medium duty or heavy duty storage system for your warehouse or factory.

1. First, determine overall weight capacity for the system by dividing the total amount of weight you will store by the number of arms you plan to order. You must install enough arms to evenly divide individual proportions of the load that are equal to or less than the total weight capacitance of an individual cantilever shelving arm.

2. To determine the strength and number of uprights you will need, again divide your total weight by the projected number of vertical support to make sure that the divided weight is equal to or less than the total capacity of the piece. Never allow the weight on a single cantilever arm to exceed the weight capacity of a vertical upright. To do so would put stress on the entire system.

3. Also make sure that the depth of the load never exceeds the length of the cantilever arm. If it does, the cantilever arms are pulled forward and the shelving unit can potentially tip forward.

4. Finally, divide the total product length by the total number of arms, and then divide the product again by two. This determines the total overhang of your equipment on either side of each arm. Without the proper degree of overhang, the arms will be stressed or the cantilever shelf will become horizontally imbalanced.

If you do not have time to do all these shelving calculations, or if you simply do not like math, call us and let us do it for you. We specialize in building custom cantilever shelves for virtually any storage need. We design cantilever shelving systems according to precise load size and weight, and we ensure the correct allowance for vertical clearance. We will also recommend, when necessary, additional necessities such as guide rails and entrance guards that will protect equipment and material from damage.

Aluminum & Steel Loading Dockboards

Aluminum dockboards are designed to connect dock floors to the back floors of trailers and offer a safe, economical way to load and unload trucks. Dock boards have safety curbs on either side of the ramp that prevent material handling tools from rolling off the sides while loading and unloading trucks. Aluminum dock boards offer a lightweight, yet sturdy bridge between dock and truck and are manufactured in full compliance with all OSHA regulations. They are a must have for every shipping and receiving department that routinely man handles heavy loads and uses loading ramps.

The size of your commercial dock board will depend on the height differential between trailer and the loading dock itself, and the width and axle capacity of your forklift, pallet rack, hand truck, or platform truck. To save a step, call an Easy Rack loading dock experts and provide this information over the phone. Our material handling specialists will help you determine the size of the aluminum dockboard best suited to your needs.

Aluminum Dockboard with Welded Aluminum Curbs
A well made dockboard is engineered and built for maximum safety while handling heavy forklifts and loads. Locking legs prevent them from moving during loading and unloading operations. Welded aluminum safety curbs prevent accidental falls and provide a visible driving lane. The locking legs are unevenly placed, allowing the dock board to sit canted while not in use. This makes it easier for forklifts to pick it up. These dock boards are manufactured in compliance with OSHA. The bend measures 11° and 9" from the edge, and the legs are 12" from the edge.

Aluminum Dockboard with Steel Curbs
This dockboard combines maximum strength, safety, and portability. Its deck is made of tough aluminum tread plate and features structural steel safety curbs with tapered ends. The beveled design of the edges allows for smooth entry and exit, and the tread plate design ensures positive traction. Legs are 12” from the edge and are bolted to give the unit increased durability. Legs are also canted for fork truck portability.

Formed Aluminum Dockboards
This dockboard features unique, formed aluminum side curbs that combine the benefits of strength and lightweight portability. The tread plate offers better traction, and the side curbs are painted safety yellow. As with other dockboards, beveled entry and exit edge offer convenient and smooth movement across the surface.

Aluminum Hand Truck Dockboard
This dockboards is lightweight and can be carried and positioned by hand. It can bear up to 800 pounds of weight and can be used with two wheel hand trucks. Total plate thickness of the unit measures only 3/16”. Its welded aluminum, diamond tread surface, and beveled edges provide safe and smooth entry and exit. The bend in the surface is intended to keep ramp edges flush with the surface of the dock and with the dock floor. Each unit is equipped with bolted, locking legs. In order to decrease the chance of roll off, full length aluminum curbs line the sides of the unit.
