Commercial Racking & Structural Pallet Racks

Pallet Rack System
Pallet rack systems are material mass storage units intended to store palletized products. Pallet racks can either be built inside a warehouse, or they can be constructed in yards for specific outdoor uses. Many different design styles exist, each one made for specific storage environments and content requirements.

Although pallet racks systems can vary widely in size and design build, every system is constructed built using three basic types of components: uprights, beams, and wire deck. The weight capacities and structural strength of these components ultimately determine the build, structure, and function of the pallet rack they are used to construct.

Uprights
Upright frames are large verticals that form the structural frames of pallet racking systems. They determine how tall and how deep the unit. Each upright has two tall beams and all the necessary components that connect them together. Frame sizes range from 72" to 192" high. Some custom racks are even larger. Pallet rack depths will range anywhere from 36" to 48". Every system needs to be built with a minimum of two upright frames.

Beams
Beams are horizontal components affixed to the upright vertical frames. Easy Rack beams are made for safe and easy installation. Systems can be built with any number of beam sizes and duties. When these capacities are proportionally calculated in reference to upright capacities, a pallet racking system can be built for a specific warehouse, particular product, and specific operation. Add-ons can be used to further customize any pallet rack system to make it a truly custom solution to your unique operational and storage requirements.

Wire Decks
Not every pallet rack system uses wire deck. Structural steel is considerably stronger and is preferred for the most heavy-duty pallet racking. However, less intensive weight requirements can be accommodated just as effectively with wire decks. Wire decks are sometimes even required by municipalities with strict fire codes that mandate that no equipment be allowed to block the water from sprinkler systems. The cost benefits of reducing potential fire damage represent both preventative maintenance and possibly a reduction of insurance rates should your insurance carrier offer discounts for safety measures such as fire prevention.

There are many different pallet rack system design styles, each of which offers its own unique features, advantages, and benefits to specific storage environments and material handling applications. The most popular pallet rack system is the teardrop design, which has become virtually an industry standard in most warehousing environments. It is a very versatile design featuring a standardized “teardrop” connection that allows uprights and crossbeams made by different manufacturers to be interchanged at will.

Structural pallet rack systems are the true draft horses of the material storage world. These large, powerful units are normally bolted together. Very large structural rack built directly into the side of a building a the time of new construction.

Other designs by Easy Rack include Speed Rack, Sturdibilt, Ridg-U-Rac. Custom new and used models are available throughout the Continental United States.

How We Help You Today?
Our comprehensive inventory is designed to anticipate every challenge facing manufacturers, distributors, and warehouses. Our many storage units will transform the unused vertical cube of a building into new space that in many cases eliminates the need to move. Our wide selection in material moving equipment enables companies to find the right tool for the right job and thus eliminate safety problems and time delays by making it simpler and faster to move supplies around the building.

Our material handling and storage products fall into five major categories, each of which targets a specific area of moving products and supplies or more safely and efficiently storing them:

1. Material Handling Equipment
2. New & Used Pallet Racks
3. Industrial Shelving
4. Storage Racks
5. Ergonomic Equipment & Supplies

Structural Pallet Racks & Racking

Structural pallet racks from Easy Rack are made of structural steel that is manufactured with reinforced channel corners and thicker steel columns. In the event of an accidental impact, it can far more resistant to damage than rolled steel. Structural pallet racks also feature a sturdier, bolted construction design and are welded together with AWS-certified criteria.

Three of our more popular types of structural pallet racks are the SelecDeck, the Drive-In/Drive-Through, and the Glide-In “Push Back” systems.

SelecDeck Case Flow Systems
Typical gravity case rack often can cause a number of problems on a warehouse floor. Tracks and wheels will fall off, and the entire operation has to temporarily shut down as crews scramble to conduct repairs. The SelecDeck Structural pallet rack prevents this sort of downtime with a superior case flow design that features a number of advantages over standard models.

The wheels on this design are much larger, wider, and stronger than they are on traditional models. The axles are also made differently. Steel shelf beams work to support to the entire module, making it more stable and rigid. Customized wheel beds offer a good deal more flexibility when slotting products, and the absence of slotting limitations makes it unnecessary to add more tracks during re-profiling.

Drive In / Drive Through Structural Pallet Rack.
Warehouses prefer this pallet rack design when they have to make use of every square inch of horizontal floor space and vertical cube space. Constructed entirely from structural steel, it features the innovative “Space-Saver Arm” design it provides the best in adjustability, durability, and safety required by heavy-duty Drive-In applications.

Glide-In “Push-Back”
This structural pallet rack offers the best features of the Drive-In rack combined with the selectivity of deep pallet racks. A system of wheeled carts that operate through gravity move pallets forward each time the pallet in the front is removed. Different cart designs can be special ordered based on height requirements and storage content.

Structural pallet racks offer some of the best benefits you can expect from any material storage product, including the following:

Long-Term Cost Savings
Longer product lifetime results from the damage-resistant nature of structural steel. This simplifies pallet rack designs, repair costs and replacements costs and generates ROI in the form of fewer services calls and purchase orders.

Damage resistance means less frequent downtime.
When it a rack is hit, even if it is damaged, it will still retain 90% of its load capacity. In most instances, your operation can continue as normal while the structural units are repaired.

Easy Rack Two-Year Warranty
In the event of worst case scenario product failure, our two-year warranty offers beam and upright replacement as covered per the terms of the warranty.

Easy Rack sells new and used structural pallet racks, uprights, and beams throughout the United States. Used rack can cost up to 40% less than new rack—a considerable savings when you consider the additional cost savings inherent to structural steel.

Our sales begin with customer service, as we aim to provide you with information on what best meets the needs of your facility and business cycle. We know that every company is different, and every facility unique. Our racking design specialists are trained to understand you first and pinpoint the areas where we can best accommodate your operations, cost reduction, and improved annual profits. By determining these things first, the actual selection of products themselves is much easier, and the purchase order more precise and efficient—just like your process flow will be.
