Bollard posts protect facilities, restricted areas, equipment, and sensitive materials. One or more bollard post(s) will provide an effective barrier against industrial and material handling equipment impact. At the same time, they allow pedestrian traffic to move freely into and out of areas.
Most bollard posts are made from steel and are treated with a powder coat finish. The standard color is safety yellow because it provides high visibility.
 Although square bollard posts are used in some places, most industrial facilities prefer round bollard posts. Steel Bollard Posts are often used outdoors to protect buildings and supplies from equipment impact. They are also used inside warehouses to protect against forklift collisions. Smaller unites measuring 4 ½” and 5 ½” diameter are tipped with moulded rubber caps that allow installers to pour concrete into the bollard to fix it more firmly to the floor. This is often necessary in places where extremely heavy equipment is passing near sensitive materials and the barrier has to be extra strong to withstand and accidental impact.
Smaller diameter bollards are also available for less mission critical and/or hazardous areas. These posts measure approximately 1 ¾” in girth and are tipped with steel caps that are welded to the top.
Easy Rack also supplies a smokers bollard post designed specifically for cigarette smokers. It is the perfect motivator for safe disposal of cigarettes that otherwise get tossed on the ground to burn near chemicals and shoes. It features a 1 ¼” diameter opening in the side of the post near the top for cigarette butt disposal. A removable top allows for the bollard to be periodically emptied. The top is lockable with a padlock to prevent unauthorized tampering and/or vandalism.
 Folding bollard posts allow outdoor traffic areas to be closed to vehicles when the post is in the vertical position. This can be a very valuable safety feature for docks and loading ramps where people are working in the entranceway and vehicle traffic has to be temporarily stopped. When the way is clear, the bollard can be lowered to the ground to allow material handling equipment to roll safely over its surface.
Bollard posts can be placed in front of and around industrial storage racks, mezzanine systems, pallet racks, and commercial shelving.
