Drum Caddy

Thanks to the heavy weight of a fully laden drum, it can be difficult for staff to get it from one place an industrial unit to another.  A drum cart gets around many of the problems that staff come across, and has an ergonomic design that minimizes the amount of effort required at all stages of the drum moving process.  By following a simple step by step routine, even staff who would struggle to lift the drum will find themselves able to manage the weight of the drum and get it into place on the caddy before moving it around the workplace.

The drum caddy has been designed with utility in mind.  The whole construction is functional, and there is no excess material used anywhere.  The handle is dual purpose, and the first stage in loading the drum caddy is to remove the handle, and then attach it to the top of the drum.  This handle can then be used as a lever to tilt the drum to one side, making it easy to slide the cart section of the unit under the bottom the drum.

Once the drum is lowered back onto the cart, the handle can be slotted back into place on the drum caddy, and then it is a simple matter to push the drum around the workplace to where it is most required thanks to the small third trolley wheel that supports the weight of the drum and makes it easy to move the caddy around.  Once the drum is in place, the handle can be removed again, and this time, its other purpose as a bung nut wrench is used.   This means that the whole process of moving a drum from one place to another and even distributing the contents of the drum can be carried out with a single tool. 

There are a number of different options to choose from when it comes to picking the best drum caddies for your needs, and principal amongst these are the kind of wheels that are attached to the unit.  Different work surfaces and flooring materials, and indeed different capacities for carrying define what material can be used for the wheels.  The most effective type of wheels are steel with a rubber outer tire, as these combine hard wearing construction with better grip on a painted floor, and prevent the drum caddy from getting away from staff when in use.  This kind of cart will happily carry up to 1200lb of weight despite only weighing a lightweight 40lb completely assembled.
