Commercial Warehouse Stock
Picking Ladders. Time is money in every aspect
of business, but in some aspects of business, it is even more crucial than in
others. Inventory control is one of
those areas where consistent workflow literally adds up to dollars and cents
that you either save or lose. Stock
picking ladders make inventory control safe, fast, and efficient by providing
workers with a stable means of climbing to desired heights and a trustworthy,
stable platform one which they can stand and balance while doing their
jobs.

These versatile, safe, and ergonomic
platforms are ideal for small warehouses, stores with narrow aisles, and even
areas with heavy traffic. They are
designed to be mobile and compact and to fit in areas that larger ladders cannot
safely be mounted and climbed. They
are also engineered with sturdy steel construction and built in full compliance
with OSHA 1910.29 & ANSI A14.7 regulations.
Designed
with handrails that employees can grip while climbing and standing, these units
are stable, secure, and completely safe to work on in both retail and industrial
environments. A number of features
make them mobile, ergonomic, and highly practical for all stocking
operations.
To
begin with, all steps on all stock picking ladders measure 24” across. This makes them just wide enough to
stand on two feet and balance by gripping the handrails. Steps can be also be ordered with
optional safety treads if additional precautions are necessary. Stair treads can be ordered in
perforated, grip strut, or safety walk.
Unit
heights range from 92 inches to 122 inches. Platform heights range between 50 inches
and 80 inches. Different units, of
course, have different numbers of steps.
Smaller ladders have 5 steps, while the largest units have 8 steps. All models have a total weight
capacitance of 350 pounds and a shelf capacity of 300 pounds.
Mobility is important in the inventory control business. Nothing is more annoying and time
consuming than having to lift the ladder and manually move it over to the next
spot. Lifting can also result in
back and shoulder strain which no organization wants to risk.
Because
of this, stock picking ladders are built with the same construction features as
other types of steel rolling ladders.
They feature sprung castors that allow them to be rolled over the floor
and then locked in place by rubber feet when a person climbs the steps. This makes it easy to position them even
in the tightest corners and more narrow of aisles with minimal risk of
injury.
Standard platform depth is 20 inches deep with optional 30 inches
deep by special order.
Many manufacturers also make powered stock picking ladders that
operate on a 12V marine battery and winch.
Push button controls mounted at the top of the platform make these units
easy to operate. Bottom limit
switches stops shelves automatically at the top and bottom of the unit.
Businesses in both warehouse distribution and store front retail sales
have consistently experienced improved efficiency in inventory control and a
decrease in worker accident by a reasonable investment in stock picking
ladders.
