Industrial Pallet Rack
What are the most common types of industrial pallet racks?
Teardrop and structural.
What are the differences between the two?
Basically, there are two major differences. One lies in the method of assembly. Teardrop industrial pallet racks do not require bolts or braces to snap together and hold in place. Industrial structural rack must be bolted together and takes more time—and more money—to have installed.
How do I know which type I need?
Typically, teardrop pallet racks work in most industrial settings. Be sure, however, to confirm this with an Easy Rack expert before assuming this will work in all cases. A very large rack may require special components and a very unique structural design.
The reason for having an industrial pallet racking system in the first place is to be able to store large, heavy materials as if they were smaller and lighter weight.
Are industrial pallet racks by Easy Rack used or new?
Mostly used, because we don’t want to sell you anything you don’t really need. Used systems do just as well as new ones and can save you a ton of money on front-end costs. There are times, however, when you do require something that looks better to managers or business partners. In these cases, working with a specialist who can custom build the system can help generate a higher ROI that will offset the more expensive price point of new racking.
Are there other special factors that are involved in building industrial pallet racks?
They have to be built with the best steel components and assembled so as to absorb the shock of occasional forklift collisions. Also, some need to be galvanized. This lets you store corrosive materials on the rack without fear of damaging it. If you are currently using older racks not made with galvanized steel, you need to replace them. Corrosion will wear even the strongest system down over time and lead to a catastrophic failure of one of more decks on the rack. If price is a concern, and if you plan to store palletized material on the system, an undecked industrial pallet rack can be made using only beams and uprights. The absence of decking will significantly lower the price in many cases.
