Glossary of Pallet Related Terms for Material Handling Industry.

Are you trying to make sense of the shop talk and lingo used by professionals in the wooden and drum spill pallet industry? The material handling experts at Easy Rack has compiled a partial pallet term glossary to help you make heads or tails about what these pallet industry professionals are saying and what these terms mean in the logistical business. Pallet Racks solve the bulk storage and retrieval needs faced by most industries today. Pallets and used pallet racking systems provide a cost effective means to manage inventory safely and efficiently. This certainly is not a complete pallet industry glossary, but a very good representation of the most commonly used pallet industry terms.

Here are a few examples from the Pallet Glossary we have selected for your viewing enjoyment:

Pallet - A portable, horizontal, rigid platform used as a base for assembling, storing, stacking, handling and transporting goods as a unit load, often equipped with a superstructure.

Deck Board - The Element or component of a pallet deck, oriented perpendicular to the stringer or stringer board.

Stevedore Pallet - A pallet designed for use on seaport shipping docks, normally of heavy-duty, double-wing construction.

Pallet Jack - A hand-propelled, wheeled platform, equipped with a lifting device for moving palletized unit loads.
