Ergonomic Work & Powered Lift Tables

What is Ergonomics anyway?
Ergonomics is the study of motion. When applied to material handling applications, ergonomics worktables improve the quality of the workplace environment. It creates new systems, and improved process flows, reduces the liabilities associated with industrial accidents, and increase profits by bringing general productivity to a higher level.

What are the benefits of ergonomic powered turntables?
When a crew member is working at a work bench, the ability to quickly access an item from any angle helps the worker get a task done more quickly and much more safely. With a powered carousel turntable, an employee can turn the item towards him without having to move around the work bench.

When working on smaller items, such as engine parts, 8-inch units are sometimes used. Larger items like engine blocks and oddly shaped objects are better manipulated on 24 inch units. A worker can more easily access different sides of such an item with a powered turntable. A staff member can also see both the object and the progress of their own work from different vantage points. With this improved accuracy and efficiency, more work gets completed in less time.

How many types of powered turntables does Easy Rack sell?
We sell several models designed for the many specific applications that define warehouse, distribution center, and factory process flow. Our experts will help you choose the right unit for your application based upon the size, shape, and other attributes of the unit. Our most basic electric lift tables are simple bench top turntables that sit on top of the workbench. They will support up to 5,000 pounds, and they enable employees to rotate the item being worked on with little effort. Rotational is maintained by high quality bearings.

Can you adjust the height of an item with any of these units?
With adjustable powered turntables, you can. We sell units in varying heights measuring up to 36 inches. The ability to adjust the height of the unit allows for a maximum range of ergonomic movements. Workers will not only gain full access to every side of the materials, but they will be able to set the height to a level that minimizes arm and back movements and gives them maximum visibility of the item being processed. Adapt the work to the human body in this fashion is ergonomics is really all about.

How safe are these units?
They are extremely safe because they are manufactured at the highest levels of quality and built with the latest turntable lift technologies that let workers to easily elevate objects of up to 750 pounds in weight. The powered rotation helps your employees work smarter, not harder, and to get the job done more rapidly without fatigue or the risk of serious injury.

If your company consistently works with large or very heavy objects and you are concerned about employee fatigue or injury, powered turntables can bring your crew both piece of mind and greater efficiency and safety. Talk to your Easy Rack account representative today about which model is right for you.

Electric Heavy Duty Hydraulic Scissor Lifts

Heavy Duty electro hydraulic scissor lifts rank among the most powerful material handling tools Easy Rack carries. These products are needed for loads weighing from 15,000 LB up to 120,000 LB. Like all scissor lifts, electro hydraulic units are intended to keep heavy materials at a stable, consistent elevation for safe access and efficient operations to be performed. They are frequently used by telephone companies, lumber companies, and air craft engine companies to elevate materials for manipulation, moving, or service work.

Oftentimes electro hydraulic scissor lifts are buried in the ground and used to facilitate the unloading an loading of tractor trailers. Two hydraulic scissor lifts will be spaced apart at the exact same distance as the front and rear wheels on a tractor/trailer. The lift will be flush to the ground when it is the elevated position. When the truck is ready for loading, it will be “parked” with both sets of wheels centered on either electro hydraulic lift. The lift tables will then be lowered, locking the truck in place and making the trailer bed flush to the ground.

This allows work crews to drive fork trucks directly into the trailer without it wobbling to either side. Workers can also move barrels and containers that hold sensitive materials and flammable liquids safely into the trailer with minimal risk of spillage or injury. Nuclear power plants often use electro hydraulic scissor lifts to secure trucks that are used to haul off nuclear wastes.

Of course, electro hydraulic scissor lifts are not always buried in this fashion. Many times they are used to elevate heavy engines in tractor companies to work platforms where technicians and welders can work from a standing position rather than having to work from a ladder, or actually climb on top of the engine and risk a fall. The larger the lift; the more weight it will safely elevate, and the higher it can be raised.

Because these machines are extremely heavy duty and engineered for maximum strength and stability, they have a design safety factor of 3 to 1. Each electrohydraulic lift features an externally powered motor ranging from 5 to 15 hp, depending on the lift model and size. Motors are controlled from an up/down push button control on the end of a 20 ft cord. Each motor includes an adjustable upper travel limit switch that automatically shuts off the motor and pump at the desired pre-set height. Two secondary, mechanical upper travel back-up stops provide an additional safeguard against over extension.

If necessary, workers can also stand on hydraulic scissor lifts safety. The man lift platforms are supported by rectangular structural tube scissor legs and torque tubes that maintain maximum horizontal and longitudinal stability and minimize deflection when the unit is supporting huge loads and/or workers. Toe guards along the edges of the platform provide a standard, yet very important, safety buffer against accidental slips and falls.

Heavy duty scissor lifts are built with a number of additional safety and mechanical features that are engineered to ensure stability, safe operation, durability under extreme stress for long periods of time, and reliable performance of all unit components for the duration of the unit’s lifespan.

Electric Lift Tables

Electric lifts reduce workplace trauma and injury resulting from repetitive motions, bending, and lifting. They are also highly ergonomic and efficient tools for improving process flow. By speeding up production, processing, and shipping, they add value to an organization’s profit. By minimizing stress and injury, electric lift tables reduce costs associated with injury claims, lost man-hours due to time off, and decreased productivity resulting from decreased worker morale.

Most electric lift tables operate on a hybrid hydraulic, electric system. Some, however, exclusively rely upon electric power. The key to choosing which electric lift table is right for you lies more in its mobility than its source of power.

Electric Hydraulic scissor lift tables
This electric scissor lift table is used by almost every sector of the manufacturing and warehousing industry. Electric hydraulic scissor lift tables offer you many safety features, such as an electric toe guard to protect pinch points during lowering of the table, and a brass velocity fuse to maintain the platform height regardless of hydraulic pressure. Its 24V AC push-button hand control, maintenance prop, and upper travel limit switch can stop the table at maximum height, reducing the wear on the 2HP that powers the hydraulic system (rated at 3,000 psi component rating).

Electric Hydraulic Lift and Tilt Table
This hybrid hydraulic/ electric lift table can elevate materials and also tilt them to a 45° standard. It features a restraining chain that secures the load to a 12" high lip keep load in place during tilting. This electric lift table also offers a number of safety features, such as an electric toe guard that shields workers from pinch points. While you are lowering the table, velocity fuses will stop its travel in the event that hydraulic pressure drops. A 4 push-button hand pendent control on an 8 foot coil cord attaches to an upper limit switch that stops platform travel at its maximum height. This reduces motor wear and maintenance prop. End tilt functionality is standard to the electric/hydraulic lift table, and side tilt functionality is also available.

“U” Type Electric Lift Tables
The open center design of the on the "U" Type Electric Lift Tables allows you to access it with a pallet truck and place a load on its platform. This unit features an external power pack and pressure release valve that prevents overloading. Flow control valves function to regulate speed while the table is being lowered. Every unit also comes with a remote power unit, complete with a steel cover to protect the motor from dust and debris. You can lift and lower the table using the UP and DOWN push-buttons on the 24V control box. This unit also offers many safety features such as electric toe guards, velocity fuses in cylinders, safety maintenance props, and stop buttons on the control box.

Zero Lift and Tilt Table
This electric lift table is intended to help you elevate your materials a height that is convenient and ergonomic. It can be loaded onto a pallet truck and maneuvered at will. You can also tilt the top separately from the base if necessary.
