Fork Truck & Forklift Bucket Attachment

What is a bucket attachment?
A bucket attachment is a device that fastens onto the front end of a skid steer or forklift, transforming it into a device for a specialized application. Depending on the brand and model of the fork truck or skid steer, and the intended use of the bucket, it will have either a quick tach attachment or a universal fit.

Why should we invest in skid steer and forklift buckets?
Because by attaching them too one or two forklifts or skid steers you can enable two or three pieces of heavy construction equipment to perform multiple specialized tasks rapidly, safely, and accurately.

Why would I want a bucket attachment for my forklift? Shouldn't I just buy a loader?
Not so fast. Some loaders cannot reach into smaller places, and they are extremely expensive.
Forklift bucket attachments offer a more cost effective and streamlined design allows them to access hard-to-reach places. Forklift buckets with quick tach attachments are great for loading sand and gravel, and when you are finished at the end of the day, you can use them for site cleanup. In extreme northern climates, they are routinely employed to move snow. Universal, “slip over the forks” buckets are frequently used to load and unload gravel from roof tops and to remove trash.

What forklift attachment works best for masonry and moving small quantities of dirt, sand, and gravel?
The self-dumping bucket is a favorite forklift attachment for landscape work, masonry, and for moving small quantities of dirt, sand, small rocks, mulch, fertilizer and top soil. It slips right over the forks of any modern fork truck in a matter of minutes, and it needs no hydraulics and or forklift modifications to get started.

How many different models of skid steer bucket attachments do you offer?

We have six in total, ranging from buckets used for hauling dirt and agricultural products to snow and light material. The newest model that has just emerged on the market is the ribbed-bottom or “skeleton” bucket attachment. It has become very popular, very quickly, in applications that require sifting smaller debris out of the way.

Are root grapplers only good for pulling up tree roots?
No. Root grapplers make it easy to move bulky, hard-to-handle materials safely and quickly. Any time there is a major hurricane, tropical storm, and tornado, they are usually the very first and best choice for demolition and cleanup of storm debris. Perhaps the greatest benefit they offer is their ability to sift out dirt when moving larger piles of trash and heavy dirt. Utility lines and cables remain safe because the tines of a root grapple bucket attachment curve upward and outward to prevent accidental snagging.

How effective is a concrete placement bucket attachment?
Quite often, it is more effective than much more complex and expensive equivalents. It has no moving parts and therefore has less to break. It is one of those classic cases of how something simple works better than something complicated.

Concrete Drum Mixers

What are concrete drum mixers?
They are skid steer attachments that resemble in appearance the larger cement mixers we often see on the back of ready mix trucks. Although much smaller and, these skid-steer attachments can often out-perform large mixing trucks and ready mix services. Skid-steer rotating drum mixers offer construction a cost-effective, time-efficient alternative to reliance on third party ready mix companies by allowing them to mix concrete on the spot whenever they choose to do so.

How can buying one or more mixer drums help our project?
It will certainly save you time and money. Rising fuel costs have forced ready mix companies to require minimum volume purchases, and if they do deliver less than the required minimum, the price is significantly higher than the normal yardage price.

Many work crews are now manually mixing and transporting concrete in wheel barrels. This is labor intensive and can easily run an operation into overtime. Drum mixers can do the job faster and much more ergonomically.

Are drum mixers easy to use?
Yes. All you have to do is mount the unit onto the skid steer, mix the concrete, move the drum into position, and tilt to place the concrete. You can make your own concrete on the spot whenever necessary, mix only the amount they require at the time, and rapidly move and pour it into place without spillage or waste of raw materials.

What features do concrete mixer drums have?
Easy Rack concrete drum mixers weigh only 225 lbs when empty, can mix 6 cubic feet of concrete at a time, and will attach to almost any skid-steer with its universal skid-steer quick-tach and 3/8” plate mounting components. The combination of a very basic design, rugged engineering, and material build makes the Easy Rack Concrete Mixer Drum ideal for the toughest of applications in any terrain or climate. You will quickly come to rely upon it as one of your most trusted pieces of equipment.

How does the drum mixer work?
It rotates under the power of an independent hydraulic motor that mounts externally to the skid-steer. This motor is secured by a rugged carrier bearing that helps support the load in transit and protects the motor and seals from wear and tear. This makes the entire mounting configuration extra secure and ensures uninterrupted, safe performance in the roughest terrain or the most exacting of rental conditions.

Self Dumping Forklift Buckets

Self-dumping forklift provide a low-cost alternative to front in loaders for the occasional user who only needs loading and hauling work done on an intermittent basis. These forklift attachments slip right over the forks of your truck, transforming your fork lift into a loader into a matter of minutes. The self-dumping bucket does not require you to make any modification whatsoever to your forklift and it needs no hydraulic system for operation.

Self-dumping forklift buckets typically come in three different sizes: ¼, ½, and ¾ cubic feet. They are ideal for loading gravel, hauling dirt, and construction trash cleanup. They are also ideal tools for specialized masonry work and landscaping services. Moving earthworks with a loader might be efficient, but it is also expensive, and some loaders are too large to easily fit into confined areas near trees and gardens. Masonry work is also often performed in between the tight confines of two walls. In these areas, forklift buckets can maneuver much more safely in these tight quarters and take up less space—leaving workers more freedom of movement for manual tasks.

When the day is done, and it is time to clean up, do you really need 10 day labor guys to walk around and pick up trash? Why not have one licensed forklift driver use a self-dumping bucket to haul away piles of rubble, small broken boards, paper trash, ripped up boxes, and discarded containers. This can get the grounds cleaned up by 5PM more quickly and avoid the expense of overtime or the risk of injury that can occur during a simple cleanup op. Consider the value of eliminating excessive day labor costs for the one-time cost of construction cleanup tool that a single licensed fork truck driver can use over and over again.

Self-dumping forklift dirt buckets are also very easy to operate. Forks slip into the bucket support, securing the unit to the forklift while simultaneously allowing the bucket to pivot when the safety lock is disengaged. You can release the bucket from either a seated position or from the ground by using a remote rope release, or you can trigger the bucket while you are seated by using the handle at the back of the unit.

The self-dumping forklift bucket automatically resets itself after being lowered to the ground. The safety mechanism on the bucket prevents it from accidentally releasing its contents when it is being moved over rough ground. Heavy duty components and superb engineering ensure years of reliable performance from this simple—yet highly versatile--forklift attachment.
