Skeleton Buckets & Skid Steer Bucket

Skeleton buckets are skid steer attachments with vertical tines that spaced a few inches apart. These tines let small rocks and dirt to fall through to the ground while simultaneously holding on to larger dirt and debris. These versatile and heavy-duty skid steer buckets are invaluable to both landscaping and construction because they allow workers to clear entire areas without gouging out deep holes in the ground.

There are many tools that workers have historically used to clear such. It is not like hauling trash away is all that hard. However, anything sold bottom container carries away dirt as well as debris, leaving holes in the ground that are both dangerous and unattractive.

Skeleton buckets move debris away much more effectively than other tools. In the western US, they are great for moving large rocks away from construction sites. In the southeastern and eastern parts of the nation, fork lift accessories are ideal for hauling away tree roots and the remnants of tree stumps. In urban areas, they are very used in demolition projects where crews must clear away fragments of previous buildings, such as broken cinder blocks and bricks, need to be removed from the lot. This saves tremendous money and time by maintaining keeping the terrain level for new construction. Farmers often use these buckets to remove debris, tree roots, and scrub brush from their fields and pastures. The environmental impact is minimal due to the open-ribbed bottom design. Scrap metal operations and junk yards will use skid steer skeleton buckets to sort out larger pieces of metal from smaller pieces of scrap. This helps them sort different materials according to size and place them in separate piles. Consolidating stock like this helps junk yards better organize scrap and keep it concentrated in areas away from human traffic and moving vehicles.

Skeleton Skid-Steer Buckets are designed with a leading edge, ¾” X 6” high carbon beveled blade that can be expanded with an optional, bolt-on blade attached. This attachment is often used for working around trees because it can more quickly cut through heavy root systems and stumps. Optional heavy duty teeth can be added when clearing metal, concrete, or cinder block. The top of the skeleton bucket is reinforced by closed box channel section, and heavy angle section at the bottom reinforces the structural backbone of the unit

Easy Rack skeleton buckets can be ordered in 66”, 72”, and 84” widths. Every unit is fitted with a heavy duty universal-fit skid-steer quick-tach intended to fit all current sized skid-steer loaders.

A skeleton bucket is a one-time investment that can be used in many applications for many years to come. Any construction or landscaping project that involves moving large amounts of debris off site will benefit from one of these rugged and versatile skid steer attachments.

Skid Steer Attachments

Do you have skid steer attachments for concrete mixing and pouring?
We have two different types of concrete mixers that attach to skid steers. Both have their advantages and benefits. The skid steer drum mixer is based on the rotating cylinder and attaches to your skid steer with a quick tach. The scoop in place bucket mixer attaches to your skid steer and can scoop up dirt and gravel, mix with cement, and pour from the same piece of equipment. We also have a concrete placement bucket you can use that features a high back to make it splash proof and no moving parts that will wear over time.

When do skid steer forkframe attachments come in useful?
If you are loading and moving cumbersome or uneven materials, such as a pile of railroad ties, you can turn your skid steer into the equivalent of a fork truck. The advantage these skid steer forkframe attachments offer over many standard fork trucks is a captive fork design that holds the forks steady and prevents them from moving when you dump the load. Forkframes also have frame openings in the back that allow you to see what you are doing when you are maneuvering into position and moving materials.

What types of skid steer attachments do you have for specialized industrial and agricultural loading tasks?
Skid steer buckets can be used for any number of industrial and agricultural tasks. You can order attachments made specifically for scooping and moving dirt, sifting out small debris from larger materials, moving snow and light materials, utility work, hauling fertilizer, and cottonseed transport. Skid steer buckets feature hard, beveled carbon side blades prevent the sides from being worn. The bottom of each skid steer bucket is strengthened by welded seams and scuff bars so you can drag the attachment over the surface of the materials you are working with.

What skid steer attachments do you recommend for storm cleanup and debris removal?
Root grapplers and grapple buckets are invaluable for cleanup and demolition of storm debris. They provide ideal grip and lifting ability to get not only tree roots out of the ground, but also to move and stack fallen limbs, sawed up tree trunks, and brush piles. The cutting edge is notched for optional customization with a bolt-on-blade. Intermediate bottom tines can be added to reduce gaps and increase gripping and pickup power.

Do you have any skid steer loader attachments that can used in hard-to-reach places?
For elevated, hard to reach places that require you to lift material weighing as much as 1,000 lbs, Easy Rack recommends attaching a crane jib to your skid steer. These attachments add 5ʼ to loader lift high and will increase the horizontal reach of your skid steer by 6ʼ. Contractors love crane jibs because they can be used for a wide range of jobs such as handling and setting pipe, loading generators, and light steel erection. Landscapers love these skid steer attachments just as much as contractors. They use crane jibs to load, carry, and set trees and large plants. The extra lift height these remarkable loader attachments create makes it possible to safely pick trees up above the balance point.

Skid Steer Buckets

Each of these skid steel bucket types can be customized. We can have heavy duty shanks welded to the cutting blade to increase pickup power. These teeth measure 2-1/4" across the point and weld straight onto the blade. In other applications that are extremely demanding, adding a punched blade with bolt-on-blade will increase the life of your skid steer bucket. Users consistently report an increase of up to 3 times the wear when they add this option.

Skid steer buckets can be used for a wide variety of tasks. Built for rugged applications and made to last, Easy Rack carries five basic standard models for a number of applications:
  • Low profile duty skid steer buckets are used to haul dirt.
  • Heavy duty buckets are made for utility work.
  • Agricultural units for moving fertilizer.
  • Special skid steer buckets are used by farmers to move seed.
  • Snow buckets for plowing and light material moving are ideal for extreme temperatures in northern climates.

Key features make these heavy duty skid-steer fork lift attachments must-have purchase for your construction site. Buckets also feature dual safety stops to make them more controllable, and beveled hard carbon steel side blades that reinforce and protect the bucket sides. Skid steer buckets are strengthened even more by seams that are fully welded. The flat, square bottom of each bucket type allows you to back drag the unit over dirt to level it. Scuff bars reinforce this area to prevent excessive wear. A 3/8", plate steel universal quick tach allows skid-steer buckets to fit almost any loader brand.

Standard type steer buckets cannot be used for optimal results in some applications, however. Because they are solid, they scoop up everything. A new, ribbed-bottom design now makes it possible to actually scoop and sift for certain projects that require only larger materials to be moved. The ribbed-bottom skid steer bucket features an open ribbed bottom that sifts dirt and smaller materials to the ground without picking up and moving larger materials.

Ribbed bottom skid steer buckets are low cost specialty tools that are excellent for virtually any specialized application. Everyone from demolition teams, scrap handling workers, farmers, and construction crews are beginning to use them more and more. Ribbed-bottom skid steer buckets are also becoming a rapid favorite among landscaping crews because they are ideal for moving rocks. They are also being used increasingly to move certain masonry materials, and debris cleanup crews prefer ribbed-bottom buckets because they sift out the dirt and sand when cleaning hazardous debris from a site.
