Aluminum shelters are needed by a broad spectrum of facility types. First, any organization that lies along a bus route, or that offers its clients shuttle service, needs at least one bus stop shelter. Examples include retirement homes, which offer shuttle services to retirees who want to get out and about, airports with both shuttle services and city bus traffic, any municipality with metropolitan bus transit, and corporations with a large number of employees riding the bus to and from work.
Of course, bus stop shelters are only one type of shelter designed and shipped by Easy Rack. Smoking shelters allow companies to designate a specific area that is comfortable for smokers and out of site of visiting clients, guests, or non-smoking employees. ATM shelters and vending machine shelters protect sensitive equipment from the elements and provide a measure of protection for users. Security shelters give onsite guards a much more comfortable base of operations than your typical metal guard shack. Canopy shelters do the same for park rangers at the entrances to state and national parks. There are also walkway shelters that both decorate and shade sidewalk areas and outdoor break rooms for office building tenants.
Aluminum shelters are always customized to some extent. Different lengths of aluminum extrusion that measure from 2 to 5 inches allow us to create a wide range of sizes and styles. We do not use generic building guidelines, but rather we build the structure according to the application it is intended to support. For most structures, clients can choose between several options for roof design and material constitution. The smaller structures can be as compact as 2’ by 6’, while the largest of our bus shelters can measure as much as 10’ by 30’
Amenities can also be added to these structures if ordered by the client. Features such as solar power, doors, wind skirts, and heating for the winter are very popular.
As their name indicates, aluminum shelters are built with aluminum frames. However, there is far more to these custom outdoor shelters than many people assume. The clear side walls are made from shatter proof glass or polyethylene. This allows for maximum visibility in either direction. Roofs are manufactured from acrylic or aluminum. This shelters a person from the heat and UV radiation of the sun without completely placing them in a dark space. The combination of aluminum frame and strong clear wall material makes for a superbly stable structure which anchors to a concrete foundation with pads and fasteners that hold the frame firmly in place.
Aluminum shelters are first designed by our professionals according to the application they are intended to perform. Structures are sized in accordance with the anticipated number of continuous users that will be occupying the shelter at any given point in time. The walls, roofs, and frames are then manufactured and shipped directly to the client organization. Transportation of components to the designated site can be done with any fork truck. Assembly requires only basic tools such as pop rivet guns, electric drills, and simple hammers.
