Netting

How many types of commercial nets exist?
There are more types than we can comprehensively address in a single article. Easy Rack categorizes netting by application based upon the most sought after materials and major industry uses. We have nylon nets, mesh nets, personal safety nets, golf driving range nets, cargo nets, protection netting, and barrier netting, just to name a few.

What materials are nets made from?
Netting is made from nylon, polyester, or a new plastic polymer called “polypropylene”, which is extremely strong and resilient.

What industries use netting?
Any type of theme, amusement, or Water Park will have nets around rides and pools to provide safety for park enthusiasts. Parks also use barrier netting to restrict access to certain areas and to direct traffic along certain pathways.

Construction companies use netting for safety, fall protection, and debris containment. Some very large nets are designed to be used as lifts for heavy materials.
Warehousing and distribution centers use netting around mezzanine systems and work platforms to prevent workers and materials from falling to the ground. Factories use them as well as protective boundaries that isolate dangerous equipment.

Both material handling operations and construction crews require safety nets for fall prevention. Not only are these products useful to process flow, they are required in most instances by local, state, and even federal safety regulations.

What is debris containment?
Industrial operations often produce debris and byproducts that fall to the ground. Without something to catch this debris as it falls, workers on the ground are subject to injury, and machinery is subject to damage. Debris containment netting minimizes the risk of injury and damage to persons and property.

Can netting be used to lift industrial materials?
Very powerful nets called cargo nets, or "lift" nets, are often used to do exactly that. They can be attached to a crane or other lifting device and used to safely lift supplies from the floor to mezzanine systems or rooftops.

What is nylon netting still so popular?
Nylon is an ideal material for safety and sports netting. Nylon has 3 times the abrasion resistance of polypropylene and does not rot. In other words, it can take more of a beating in a rough environment. It is also extremely resistant to extremes of heat and cold and holds up very well in humid climates like the American South.

What is mesh netting used for?
Very powerful mesh is used for debris containment and lifting. Very fine mesh is used by a number of commercial and governmental facilities as a security measure. Mesh will allow a small amount of light to shine through, but it will obscure visibility on the other side of the mesh. Mesh netting of this sort can be used as a cheaper substitute for a solid barricade or a costly build out of a new wall.

Plastic door strips promote greater efficiency at industrial and commercial warehouse facilites.

Plastic strip doors are a common sight at industrial facilities and commercial warehouses which use them to save energy, minimize dust and maintain room temperatures at their facility. Plastic door strips promote greater efficiency in use because individuals no longer need to waste time opening and closing doors every time they walk in and out of a room. The same holds true in facilities with loading docks, fork lifts, pallet trucks or other ergonomic material handling equipment.

Vinyl door strips can be installed quickly and sized to fit. Simply cut the vinyl strips to the appropriate length and then fix them to the door frame or wall using the supplied brackets. The vinyl door strips are clear, see through and this will prevent swinging door accidents once they are installed.

Easy Rack Vinyl door strips can be easily cleaned using soap and water to ensure that they stay in good condition, and if they are damaged in use, individual strips, rather than the whole door hanging unit can be replaced in a matter of minutes. Actually fitting plastic strip doors takes very little time, and there are a number of options open to you. For maximum protection and to ensure that noise and dust are kept to a minimum, the strips can be staggered completely to effectively create a double layer of protection. A lower cost solution is to simply have a smaller overlap between neighboring strips so that fewer are required to cover an entire door.

The materials used in the production of these vinyl door strip are fire resistant, and will self extinguish in the event of a fire, making them a very effective barrier between areas that will give staff additional time to escape in an emergency.

One of the most popular uses for plastic strip doors is in closing off dock areas from the main stock house or factory area without restricting efficiency in loading and unloading of trucks. Forklifts attachments can simply push through the flaps onto the loading area, saving time and increasing productivity.

If you are looking for a quality vinyl door strip to solve your warehouse door problems with industrial carts, chances are Easy Rack has a size or model to fit your needs. By using floor tape applicators to mark out areas within the building, you get a solution that is hard wearing, long term, and flexible.

One of the most important parts of keeping a factory or warehouse running efficiently is making sure that everyone knows exactly where they need to be going, and the right area for everything to be stored in. To protect against accidents involving vehicles such as fork lift trucks and pedestrians, key routes need to be clearly marked, while areas that are potentially dangerous must be identified using floor tape applicators.

While painting a floor is a permanent solution, it can cause problems, paint breaks down over time, and if you make changes to the way a stock house is organized, the old paint can make routes confusing for staff and cause problems in terms of efficiency. By using floor tape applicators to mark out areas within the building, you get a solution that is hard wearing, long term, and flexible.

Basically, a floor tape applicator is a special device that holds a roll of industrial marking tape and dispenses it onto a heavy duty wheel which applies it smoothly onto the floor. Employees mark out the plan on the floor, and then walk along the various lines dispensing the tape from the machine as they go. The marking tape is released at the right tension, and thanks to the pressure applied by the rollers, gives a smooth and long lasting finish that is unlikely to be damaged in the short term.

If you are wanting to mark the floors in your shop, warehouse or commercial facility, give Easy Rack a call at 713-553-1122 or contact us online. Our friendly and knowledgeable sales associates are standing by to assist you with all your tape dispensing, loading dock supplies or commercial lighting needs.

Wheel chair lifts and wheel chair ramps make access easy to those with disabilities.

The most effective wheel chair lifts offered by Easy Rack feature ergonomic innovations that you would expect from a professional quality device. The standard wheel chair lift we offer provides smooth and powerful action that raises wheel chair users up to 36 inches at the touch of a button.

Residential wheel chair lifts from Easy Rack have all the required safety features. On operation of the wheel chair lift, a lip is automatically raised at the back of the wheel chair lift to prevent the user from rolling off backwards and potentially injuring themselves. The wheel chair lift will also stop automatically on descent if it detects that something is trapped underneath it, preventing injury to bystanders, children or pets. The standard load capacity of the wheel chair lift is 750 pounds, has a powerful 2 horsepower electric motor, and back up batteries to ensure operation in a power outage.

Although you may not have previously considered accessibility issues or wheel chair lifts in your workplace, existing and planned legislation is increasingly placing the onus on business owners to provide full access to their premises to disabled users, and this is universally applied. Aside from the legal requirement, there is also a moral reason for ensuring that all staff are treated equally by the business, and this should be just as important when planning your business’ disability strategy to comply with all of your requirements to ensure universal access to facilities.

Contact us at 713-553-1122 if you would like to learn more about our wheel chair lifts , wheel chair ramps or any kind of industrial safety equipment. We are very interested in earning you business and look forward to your call. Thank You!
